13th August 1956: leaping into the body of Eddie Brackett, Sam finds himself co-piloting a private plane taking a newly-wed couple to their honeymoon in Bermuda. Sam’s inexperience at the controls causes the plane to go off course just as it enters the Bermuda Triangle, and so the pilot, Captain Dan Cooper, takes over; but then, to Sam’s dismay, the plane’s instruments suddenly go haywire, and Al’s hologram goes on the fritz. Al warns Sam that one of the passengers, Michelle Cutter, has acute appendicitis, and is destined to die when the plane turns back to Norwich, Virginia; Sam persuades Dan to carry on through the Triangle to reach a hospital in Bermuda, but the journey soon causes the pilot to experience flashbacks, to when his plane was downed in the Triangle during World War II. Things get even weirder when Sam and Al spot an old Liberty ship on the sea below, which then mysteriously vanishes into thin air. Michelle’s appendix finally bursts, but Sam manages to save her life with some rudimentary medical aid; however, his actions change history: now the plane, and all those aboard, will disappear without a trace…
